already establishes, at Tier 1, that Dreyfus's 2007 essay "Why Heideggerian
AI Failed..." quotes Brooks's *Flesh and Machines* (Vintage Books, 2002),
p.168, via Dreyfus's own footnote 21: "Brooks gives me credit for 'being
right about many issues such as the way in which people operate in the world
is intimately coupled to the existence of their body.'" What remains
unconfirmed is the inner claim — whether that is Brooks's actual p.168
wording, verbatim, or Dreyfus's own paraphrase/gloss of a looser original.
The 2026-07-13 capture that produced that note tried Internet Archive,
Google Books, a PDF mirror, and ResearchGate, and every route returned a 403

existence of their body," and the exact phrase "being right about many
issues" all returned "Your search ... did not match any documents." Page 168
itself is outside this record's viewable preview range, so it could not be
read directly. Because a plainly-relevant name ("Dreyfus") returns zero
matches in an index that otherwise clearly functions, this reads as an
indexing or OCR gap in this particular scan rather than genuine absence —
Ray Kurzweil's review (read directly this session, Tier 3) independently
confirms the book discusses Dreyfus by name elsewhere in its text ("Brooks
points out how many of long-term AI critic Hubert Dreyfus' arguments were
based on short sighted and now discredited claims of what computers 'could
