Direct follow-up to [[question-verify-catastrophic-organizational-forgetting-citation-lineage]], which flagged that [[claim-catastrophic-and-organizational-forgetting-share-no-citation-lineage]] rested on targeted keyword search rather than an actual citation-graph traversal. This session queried the Semantic Scholar Academic Graph API directly for the founding papers named in that question, and re-read the primary text of one organizational-forgetting founding paper in full, to check reference lists and citation lists rather than inferring absence from missing keyword hits.

**Scope note up front:** the check completed cleanly and bidirectionally for one representative pair (David & Brachet's organizational-forgetting paper) but could not be completed for the ML-side founding papers, because Semantic Scholar's API elides their reference data under publisher licensing and their citation counts (thousands each) are too large to enumerate by hand in one session. The central six-paper question the routed question posed is therefore narrowed, not closed — see Claim 4.

## Claim: The complete 26-entry reference list of David & Brachet's organizational-forgetting paper, read directly, contains no citation to McCloskey & Cohen (1989), Ratcliff (1990), French (1999), or any connectionist/neural-network work

The paper's References section (pp. 26-28 of the MPRA working-paper PDF) was read in full via `extract_pdf`, from its opening entry (Argote, Beckman & Epple 1990) to its closing entry (Wooldridge 2002). All 26 entries are labor economics, operations, or organization-studies citations — shipbuilding, aircraft production, pizza franchises, military skill retention, panel-data econometrics. None names McCloskey, Cohen, Ratcliff, or French, and no entry uses the words "connectionist" or "neural network."

Scanning the full list — schedule-volatility studies, surgeon and paramedic skill-decay papers, shipbuilding and aircraft learning-curve papers, two literature reviews titled "Organizational forgetting Part I/II" — none is a machine-learning, connectionist, or neural-network paper.
