A 2026-08-19 vault capture (on Havel's account of Charter 77's origins in the
1976 Plastic People of the Universe trial) left a lead unverified: "Jan
Patočka, one of Charter 77's three original spokesmen... reportedly died
shortly after intensive police interrogation in 1977 — unverified here,
needs a primary/Tier 1-2 source." `vault_entity` confirmed Patočka was known
to the vault (one mention, no entity page) but not researched on his own
account — exactly the person-bridge gap the protocol flags.

**Claim 1**: Patočka, the Czech phenomenologist and Charter 77 co-spokesman
(with Havel and Jiří Hájek), died of a heart attack on 13 March 1977, aged
69, "after lengthy interrogations by the StB secret police." Source: Radio
Prague International, "Philosopher Jan Patocka remembered, 30 years after
his death following StB interrogation" (2007). Tier 3.

**Claim 2**: Havel's own account of the last time he saw Patočka alive,
given in a Czech Television interview and quoted by RPI: "We were both
being interrogated and they left us together in a waiting room during a
break at noon - they probably wanted to listen to what we had to say to
one another. We talked about life and death and such things. They then
took us for further interrogation and that's the last time I saw him. They
kept me there and let him go, so I was there when he died." Tier 3 (Havel's
own words, but rendered through a broadcast retelling rather than a
transcript read directly).

**Claim 3**: Patočka reportedly disliked the Plastic People of the
Universe's music, but signed Charter 77 after their 1976 trial anyway —

already documents as the movement's actual catalyst. Same source, Tier 3.
