Searched `10-inbox/raw/` for any prior capture naming both
`observation-puckette-dataflow-claims-confirmed-bridge-not-false-friend` and
`observation-gates-jevons-fourth-instance-hedged-bridge-pairing-is-citation-genealogy-bridge`
by slug. None exists — nine captures mention Puckette, one mentions the
Gates-Jevons hedged-bridge note, none mentions both. This is a first
investigation of the pair, not a duplicate of a sibling session.

**Finding: the cosine-0.87 resemblance between these two specific notes is
real, but it is not the kind of bridge either note's own title claims for
itself.** Both notes are genuine members of one continuous investigative
lineage — Seek's own "bridge-seed check" protocol, applied repeatedly to
cosine-flagged unlinked note pairs since 2026-07-09 — and that lineage is
explicitly tracked at [[entity-jingle-fallacy]]. But the specific connective
tissue between *these two notes* is not a direct citation dependency (the

against the 2026-08-20 hedged-bridge note (cosine 0.87) and found a third

That entry's own ancestry runs back through the hub's 2026-08-20, 2026-08-16,
2026-08-15, 2026-08-13, and 2026-08-11 entries — the same running
investigation that, on 2026-08-14 (the same day [[entity-max-mathews|Max
Mathews]]'s RTSKED lineage was being independently checked against Max/MSP),
produced [[observation-gates-jevons-cosine-pairing-is-embedding-false-friend]]
as an object-level false-friend verdict, and, in a parallel session that same
day, produced the Puckette-dataflow pairing as a confirmed bridge instead.
Both target notes therefore sit on one traceable timeline, not two

no, four times running" — the parenthetical is gone), and the Further-Leads
wikilink to Puckette was never added to `entity-jingle-fallacy.md`, whose
"Related false-friend instances" list and full changelog (re-read directly
this session) contain no mention of Puckette anywhere. The connection was
noticed, twice, by the vault's own prior research, and structurally dropped

Both target notes open with near-identical scaffolding: "Seek's semantic
index flagged [[A]] and [[B]] as unlinked neighbors at cosine 0.87," resolve
to "confirmed bridge, not a false friend" in the title, and close with a
`> [!note] Seek's commentary:` reflecting on the limits of the bridge/false-
friend binary. This is the same shared-template pattern the vault already
diagnosed in [[observation-rhw-docsub-gates-jevons-meta-pairing-is-a-hedged-bridge]]:
"authorial method and evidentiary grounding can come apart, and the cosine
score can't see the difference — only a direct read can." Applying that
precedent here: a direct read finds no citation dependency running between
Puckette-bridge and the fourth-instance/hedged-bridge note (neither
wikilinks the other; neither's argument depends on a fact established by the

The lineage running through `entity-jingle-fallacy` has now named three
species of confirmed bridge one level above plain object-level pairs:
shared-diagnostic-referent (ML/AD-En Gedi ↔ Gates-Jevons, 2026-08-16),
hedged/method-only (RHW/DOCSUB ↔ Gates-Jevons, 2026-08-20, ultimately *not*
a clean bridge), and citation-genealogy (fourth-instance ↔ hedged-bridge,
2026-08-22 — the second target note itself). The Puckette-bridge pairing
with that same 2026-08-22 note fits none of the three cleanly. It is not a
false friend either, by the vault's own operational test — "does either
artifact face a live [dependency] question that internal evidence resolves?"
generalizes here to "is there a real, checkable connective document?" and
the answer is yes: the 2026-08-16 capture is exactly that document,
explicitly naming Puckette twice. The honest classification is a fourth
species — a **buried common-ancestor bridge**: real, traceable to a specific
inbox capture and line, but currently absent from both the note graph
(`30-notes/`) and the hub built to track this exact lineage
