听到一句话，让中国少生了4亿人，47年后年轻人不敢生了" ("In 1978, a missile expert drank
beer in a Dutch pub, heard one sentence, and 400 million fewer Chinese were
born; 47 years later young people are afraid to have children"), and opens:
"1978年6月，荷兰恩斯赫德市。中国导弹专家宋健，和荷兰数学家奥尔斯德，在一家小酒馆喝啤酒"
("June 1978, Enschede, the Netherlands. Chinese missile expert Song Jian and
Dutch mathematician Olsder drank beer in a small pub"). The article narrates
the same beer-and-a-paper scene [[entity-geert-jan-olsder|Olsder]] describes
in his own 2024 U-Today account — a casually offered paper on optimal
population control for a "fictional island" — but places it in 1978, and
separately narrates a 2008 scene in which a journalist visits a retired
Olsder holding a copy of Susan Greenhalgh's *Just One Child* and asks him
"do you remember that Chinese visitor from 1978?", to which Olsder is
quoted (in this account) replying that he remembers sharing beers. This is a
second, independently sourced Chinese-language account — reached via
Greenhalgh's book, not via Liang's essay, and credited to a different named
source chain in its own bibliography — that, like Liang, converges on 1978.

This finding is bounded by the source's own disclosure. The article opens
with an explicit statement of method: "本文基于真实历史人物和事件，结合公开历史资料进行

historical figures and events, combined with public historical materials,
artistically reworked. Dialogue and psychological details in the text are
reasonable speculation intended to enhance readability... core historical
facts [people, times, places, major events] are all verifiable"). The piece
is a self-declared dramatization with invented dialogue, published under a
pseudonym ("晓恩说史"), sourced (per its own closing bibliography) to a mix of
Liang Zhongtang's writings, Greenhalgh's *Just One Child*, a *Science*
magazine report, and several Chinese economic/population-policy think-tank
reports — not a primary archival document in its own right. It was found
mirrored, in identical text, on two Chinese-language aggregator/dissident
news sites (bannedbook.org and aboluowang.com), with the original 新世纪
("Xinshiji") posting not independently located or fetched this session — both
fetched copies are therefore mirrors of an unlocated original, not the
original venue itself. This is Tier 5 by the vault's own rubric: untraceable/
pseudonymous authorship, explicit self-declared fictionalization of dialogue

and open web search for Chinese Academy of Sciences or Ministry of Education
delegation travel records to Dutch universities in 1975. None of the three
routes surfaced a specific record of the visit. This is a materially weaker
finding than it may sound: both Beeldbank and Delpher are JS-driven catalog
interfaces whose internal search functions were not queried directly by this
session's tooling (only their landing/about pages were fetched and read,
confirming coverage of the relevant year and collection scope) — the
negative result comes from open web search turning up no secondary report of
such a record, not from a direct, exhaustive catalog query run against
