This capture reads those 1975 texts directly. All three primary documents — the Committee's Presentation Speech, Sakharov's Nobel Lecture, and Sakharov's Acceptance Speech, all delivered or read at the same 10-11 December 1975 ceremony — were fetched via `archive_page` and read in full.

## Claim: Sakharov's own 1975 texts — his Nobel Lecture and his Acceptance Speech, both read in absentia by Elena Bonner Sakharova — do not mention Carl von Ossietzky

Neither of the two texts that are Sakharov's own words contains any reference to Ossietzky. His Nobel Lecture, "Peace, Progress, Human Rights," is a wide-ranging argument connecting peace, technological progress, and human rights, closing with a roll call of named Soviet prisoners of conscience — it never invokes a historical Nobel precedent. His Acceptance Speech (the banquet-ceremony address, also read by Bonner) is personal and forward-looking, naming Albert Schweitzer once ("proud to see my name placed together with the names of many outstanding people, among them Albert Schweitzer") but no other laureate. The pairing with Ossietzky, wherever it originates, is not something Sakharov himself drew.

Taken together with the two claims above, the answer to this capture's core question is now settled: the Ossietzky-Sakharov pairing is not a retrospective framing that started with Lundestad's 2001 institutional history and was later reused in 2010 and 2017. It is the Committee's own opening move, made in its own voice at Sakharov's own 1975 award ceremony — 26 years before Lundestad, 35 years before the 2010 ceremony speech, 42 years before the 2017 Liu Xiaobo statement. Sakharov's own texts (the lecture and the acceptance speech) are silent on Ossietzky throughout; the pairing has always been the Committee's construction, not the laureate's, and it is older than any previously-documented instance in this vault by a quarter-century or more.
