Targeted searches for co-citation between the neural-network catastrophic-forgetting literature (McCloskey & Cohen 1989, Ratcliff 1990, French 1999 — the founding work behind [[claim-catastrophic-forgetting-is-a-structure-dependent-regime-not-universal]]) and organizational-forgetting research — both the econometric [[entity-organizational-forgetting|Argote/Benkard]] line and the interpretive Foroughi & Al-Amoudi/Halbwachs line documented in [[claim-organizational-forgetting-names-two-unrelated-research-traditions]] — returned nothing. No paper in either literature cites the other, and a combined search for "catastrophic forgetting" + "organizational learning"/"organizational memory" surfaced only unrelated hits (machine-learning papers using "organizational memory" to mean a system's own memory architecture).

The most promising apparent lead was the title of Guido Fioretti's "A Connectionist Model of the Organizational Learning Curve" (*Computational and Mathematical Organization Theory* 13(1):1–16, 2007). What was read directly is that paper's companion — Fioretti's 2009 working paper "From Men and Machines to the Organizational Learning Curve," which cites the 2007 article as its reference [17] and develops the same apparatus — and it settles the lead as a false alarm: the "connectionist" in play is agent-based graph and routing modelling, with organizational units as graph nodes, flows of semi-manufactured goods as edges, and routines as recurring paths, not neural-network computation. None of the 2009 paper's forty-two references is McCloskey & Cohen, Ratcliff, or French. The 2007 article itself has not been read at primary; its published abstract describes the same graph-of-humans-and-machines construction.

The negative result rests on search coverage rather than an exhaustive read of both literatures' full citation graphs; verification routed to [[question-verify-catastrophic-organizational-forgetting-citation-lineage]].
