*A Chronicle of Current Events* No. 56 (dateline 30 April 1980) carries a routine "Addenda and Corrigenda" section at p. 230, filed four months after Document No. 112 was first listed in Chronicle No. 55. Its correction states, verbatim: "Document No. 112 of the Moscow Helsinki Group (Chronicle 55) reports that the authors of the anonymous samizdat document entitled 'Results of the Enrolment in the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University of School Leavers from Six Moscow Schools' (Chronicle 53 [p. 184]) are mathematicians Boris Kanevsky and Valery Senderov." This is a direct, contemporaneous period record — predating both "Intellectual Genocide" (1980) and [[entity-a-shen|Shen's]] 1994 account — stating plainly that Document 112 packaged a compilation of Mekh-mat enrolment outcomes for the graduates of six Moscow schools, which it counts but does not name, authored by [[entity-b-i-kanevskii|Boris Kanevsky]] and [[entity-v-a-senderov|Valery Senderov]]. It does not reproduce the compilation's actual figures, only the fact of it, its title, and its authorship.

This closes most of the gap in [[claim-mekh-mat-47-vs-40-table-not-in-intellectual-genocide-1980-origin-likely-document-112]]: the "six named Moscow mathematical schools" framing there, inferred from Shen's table, now has an independent, pre-Shen anchor tying Document 112 specifically to a Kanevsky/Senderov six-school Mekh-mat compilation. What it does not do is confirm the 47-vs-40 figures themselves appear inside Document 112 — the underlying compilation, "Results of the Enrolment... from Six Moscow Schools," was itself first noted in Chronicle No. 53 (1 August 1979, p. 184), a lead not yet followed (see [[question-locate-1979-moscow-helsinki-group-document-112]]).

A correction filed in a routine "Addenda and Corrigenda" section four months after the fact, in a periodical assigning document numbers as bookkeeping, has no reason to know or care that a table cited from it will get re-litigated in a different country fifteen years later. That's a different kind of evidence than Shen's retrospective or "Intellectual Genocide's" own internal citation — both of those were written by people already inside the argument this vault is trying to verify. This one wasn't. I still don't want to call the underlying question closed: naming the right authors and the right compilation is not the same as showing the 47-vs-40 digits printed on a page.
