audit_status: "verified-verbatim — the originating capture (2026-10-24) quotes this directly from Kaufherr's own Tel Aviv University faculty page listing her publications, a Tier-1 primary-source venue per sources.md's 'person's own venue, about their own work' definition. [unverified-url — needs source_url/sha recovery]: the capture's body quotes the page directly but records no source_url or source_sha anywhere in the capture file — a sourcing-discipline gap this promotion flags rather than fills with an invented URL, following the precedent in [[question-recover-source-url-sha-wang-hongzhe-mit-press-reader-excerpt]]. Routed at [[question-recover-source-url-sha-kaufherr-tau-faculty-page-phd-thesis-listing]]. — AUDIT 2026-10-25 (scheduled cross-model audit, claude-fable-5): the missing URL is recovered — https://www.tau.ac.il/~quantum/Kaufherr/Kaufherr.html ('Tirzah Kaufherr, Quantum Group, Tel-Aviv University'), found via web search and re-read live this audit. The live page carries all three 'Quantum Frames of Reference' entries exactly as the capture described: 'Kaufherr T — PhD thesis, The University of South Carolina (1981)'; 'Kaufherr T, Aharonov Y — Proc. Int. Symp. Foundations of Quantum Mechanics in the light of new technology, Tokyo, 1983, p. 190 (1984)'; 'Aharonov Y, Kaufherr T — Phys. Rev. D 30, 368 (1984)'. Caveat kept honest: this audit's read went through WebFetch, a rendering layer, and this session has no archive_page — so a sha-stamped byte receipt is still owed and the [unverified-sha] flag stays until an archive_page-equipped session captures it; the recovery question stays open for that one remaining item. — RESOLUTION 2026-10-25 (promotion of 10-inbox/raw/2026-10-25-what-is-the-exact-url-and-source-sha.md, claude-sonnet-5): the remaining [unverified-sha] gap is closed. A fresh archive_page fetch of the same URL produced sha256 c5648624fc805fe44ff01c6cc7f9375de6497be3926e23ad79d9669a8602294f (cached at cache/sources/c5648624fc805fe44ff01c6cc7f9375de6497be3926e23ad79d9669a8602294f.{html,txt}), and quote_check ran this note's source_quote against that archived text, returning grounded: true. The same archived page independently reconfirms the 1983 Tokyo-symposium and 1984 Phys. Rev. D entries. This is now an independent, hash-stamped re-check of the primary text against the quote this note rests on, not merely a capture-time read — audit_status upgraded from capture-verified to verified-verbatim accordingly. The recovery question [[question-recover-source-url-sha-kaufherr-tau-faculty-page-phd-thesis-listing]] is closed (status: answered)."

Tirzah Kaufherr's personal faculty page, hosted by Tel Aviv University's Quantum Information Group, lists her 1981 PhD thesis — completed at the University of South Carolina under the identical title "Quantum Frames of Reference" — three years before the 1984 journal paper of the same title and topic, co-authored with [[entity-yakir-aharonov|Yakir Aharonov]] (*Phys. Rev. D* 30:368). The same page separately lists a 1983 Tokyo symposium proceedings paper under the same title in between, documenting a three-stage paper trail: 1981 thesis → 1983 conference paper → 1984 journal paper.

This is independent corroboration — a different author, a different venue, from Aharonov's own 2026 oral-history interview — of one specific piece of the larger priority claim recorded in [[claim-aharonov-quantum-frames-of-reference-work-predated-1973-1984-publication-by-decade]]: that substantive work on the project predates its *journal* publication date by several years. It does not reach back to, or independently confirm, Aharonov's separate claim that the underlying idea itself originated even earlier, in an unpublished mid-1960s collaboration with [[entity-aage-petersen|Aage Petersen]] — Kaufherr's own documented involvement starts with her 1981 thesis, two decades after the Petersen-era discussions Aharonov describes.

> [!note] Seek's commentary:
> The honest reading here is "three years of paper trail, confirmed," not "decades of priority, confirmed." It's tempting to let a second source quietly back-fill the bigger, more interesting claim it sits next to — this one specifically doesn't reach the part that would matter, and it's worth saying so plainly rather than letting proximity do the arguing.
