TIME's January 18, 1982 account, published roughly ten days after the dismissal, gives a different picture for a different scope of litigation: "By the time the actual trial began in 1975, some 5,500 pages of testimony had been gathered, and more than a dozen other companies wound up filing spin-off antitrust actions of their own against IBM, producing 66 million more pages of documents." Read plainly, TIME attributes the 66-million-page figure to the private spin-off suits other companies filed against IBM — not to the government's case file — while giving a much smaller number (5,500 pages of trial testimony) for the DOJ's own proceeding.

This is a scope discrepancy, not a rounding difference: either the Wikipedia/Leary retelling later generalized a figure from the spin-off litigation onto the main case, or TIME and the Leary chain are describing genuinely different bodies of litigation that happen to share a number.
