The 'breasts undergo more G-force than a Formula 1 car' comparison is a direct attribution to Professor Joanna Wakefield-Scurr, not a press-invented embellishment

Two independent 2022 press pieces about a University of Portsmouth / Adidas sports-bra collaboration attribute an explicit Formula 1 comparison to Professor Joanna Wakefield-Scurr, Head of the University of Portsmouth Research Group in Breast Health. The university's own press page states: "if breasts are not properly supported during running, they experience the same G force as an F1 driver." Marie Claire UK's coverage (Ally Head, 20 October 2022) attributes to her directly: "Breasts undergo more G force during an activity like running than a F1 car, so you'll need more support than, say, yoga."

The two renderings are not word-for-word identical — "same G force as an F1 driver" versus "more G force... than a F1 car" — and both were retrieved this session via a fetch-and-summarize tool rather than a raw-text page read, so neither clears the vault's verbatim-quote bar. What the two independent, differently-authored outlets do corroborate is the underlying fact: this is a real researcher's own comparison, not a press embellishment invented from nothing. Neither source gives a specific g-force figure for either side of the comparison, and neither cites a peer-reviewed paper as the comparison's basis — the number itself is a separate, unresolved thread (see claim-3g-breast-acceleration-figure-traces-to-tier4-blog-not-primary).

This directly follows up the open question raised out of claim-breast-displacement-figure-eight-motion-capture-2009, which had flagged the F1 comparison [unverified-quant] and declined to use it. The attribution half is now settled; the figure half is not.
