AI researcher and third co-author, with [[entity-leslie-pack-kaelbling|Leslie Pack Kaelbling]] and Michael L. Littman, of "Planning and Acting in Partially Observable Stochastic Domains" (*Artificial Intelligence* 101, 1998) — the paper that carried the [[entity-pomdp|partially observable Markov decision process]] into mainstream AI planning research.

Matters to this vault as the unexpected load-bearing source in a citation-provenance investigation: Cassandra has kept his own pre-publication drafts of the 1998 paper — a 12 February 1998 preprint and the team's earlier 1994 AAAI conference paper — self-hosted on his own site (pomdp.org / cassandra.org) for nearly three decades. Those drafts, both correctly dated, are what let this vault localize a thirty-year citation-date error in the paper's published bibliography to the production step between preprint and final typesetting, rather than to any author's own transcription.
