Dartmouth College political scientist known for research on misinformation
correction and belief updating, who commented on Costello, Pennycook &
Rand's 2024 AI-debunking study for *The New York Times* when it was first
published. Matters to this vault as the one person, anywhere in the
Costello/Pennycook/Rand conspiracy-persuasion research lineage, reported to
have independently reproduced one of its findings: he told Retraction Watch
that he and his students "have reproduced the paper's results in two
independent experiments at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire" — with no
co-authorship on either Costello paper.
