Term coined/used by Paul and Anne Ehrlich (*Betrayal of Science and
Reason*, 1996/1998) for organized rhetoric that downplays or dismisses
environmental problems. Paul Ehrlich applied the term to [[entity-julian-simon|Julian
Simon]] by name in his own retrospective account of the
[[entity-simon-ehrlich-wager|Simon-Ehrlich wager]]. First encountered in
this vault via the 2026-09-14 promotion; watching for recurrence before
