An underground samizdat periodical (1968–1982/83) that served as the Soviet human-rights movement's own running documentary record, publishing translated digests of political trials, arrests, and — from the mid-1970s — the Moscow Helsinki Group's numbered document series. Amnesty International published English translations of its issues in London. Matters to this vault as the direct, contemporaneous source of two independent corroborations of [[entity-document-112-moscow-helsinki-group|Document No. 112]]'s subject and authorship — a Chronicle No. 55 (1979) document digest and a Chronicle No. 56 (1980) corrigenda naming its underlying compilers — read independently of both Shen's 1994 secondhand account and "Intellectual Genocide" (1980) itself.
