The center is also the source of a still-unconfirmed press claim — that PIM cut DNA sequence-alignment time "from 20 hours to less than a second" — which the vault has now investigated across two sessions (2026-07-09, 2026-07-30) without finding a primary source, and whose closest Tier-1 analogue argues against the claimed magnitude.
