Germany's secondary-use health-data law, set into force in March 2024 and designed to be compatible with the EU's forthcoming European Health Data Space ([[entity-ehds|EHDS]]) regulation once that takes effect. The law's own Federal Law Gazette publication runs six articles; Article 1 contains the nine sections (§1–§9) that make up the GDNG proper.

Matters to this vault as the subject of its first [[entity-data-privacy-vocabulary|Data Privacy Vocabulary]] (DPV) extension capture: Flake, Henke, Kuntz, Löbe, [[entity-harshvardhan-j-pandit|Pandit]] & Draeger's "Extending the W3C Data Privacy Vocabulary to Cover the German Health Data Use Act" (arXiv:2610.37527, 2026) formalizes 54 GDNG-related terms into a DPV extension, released as a draft with DPV 2.3. The extension's draft status is explicitly tied to one unmodeled GDNG obligation — §8's requirement to register health-data research in a WHO primary-registry network and publish results — rather than general incompleteness. The law's "Paragraph"-based (§) textual structure, rather than the "Article"-based structure DPV's existing IRI convention assumed, forced a new naming scheme in the extension (see [[claim-gdng-dpv-extension-p-prefixed-iri-scheme-for-german-paragraph-structure]]).
