Chinese Academy of Sciences academician who mediated the dispute between [[entity-qian-xuesen|Qian Xuesen]] and [[entity-yu-guangyuan|Yu Guangyuan]] over the scientific status of human-body ESP, and who personally ran the 1988 test that discredited "super psychic" [[entity-zhang-baosheng|Zhang Baosheng]]'s claimed metal-bending and object-teleportation abilities — though the result of that test was not published until 1995.

Matters to this vault as the figure who did the actual empirical adjudicating in the Qian–Yu Guangyuan dispute over [[entity-somatic-science|somatic science]], rather than only arguing about it institutionally.
