French roboticist and computer scientist at Inria, co-creator (with Jeff
Clune) of MAP-Elites — Multi-dimensional Archive of Phenotypic Elites
(Mouret & Clune, 2015), an illuminating-search algorithm that maps out a
whole archive of behaviorally diverse, locally high-performing solutions
rather than converging on one optimum.

Matters to this vault as the co-originator of the quality-diversity method
Microcosmos's Experiment 4 runs unmodified — using bending and stretching
effort as behavioral descriptors to search for diverse swimming gaits, and
reaching 399 of 400 archive cells by generation 300.
