Leon Radzinowicz

Criminologist and legal historian whose A History of English Criminal Law and Its Administration from 1750 (Vol. 1, 1948) is the standard scholarly enumeration of England's eighteenth-century capital statutes — the count later retellings, including for a time this vault's own note, cite secondhand without going back to his archival tally. He matters here because a Tier 1 primary read of his own text, not a paraphrase of it, is what let the vault's Bloody Code growth figures (about fifty capital offenses in 1688, roughly 200-223 by 1819-1828) clear the sourcing floor for quantitative claims.
