Mariya Stavnichuk
Mariya Stavnichuk is the first author of a widely cited 2020 systematic review and meta-analysis of bone loss in space travelers, published in npj Microgravity with senior author Svetlana V. Komarova (bone-biology group at McGill University / Shriners Hospital for Children, Montreal). The paper pools spaceflight bone-density data across missions from Gemini through ISS and across imaging methods, and is the source of the figure this vault treats as canonical: lower-limb bone-mineral-density loss of about −0.8% per month on missions longer than 30 days.
