Space and complexity scientist, lead author of "25 Years of Self-Organized
Criticality: Concepts and Controversies" (2015, arXiv:1504.04991; *Space
Science Reviews* 198, 3–44) — the Tier-1 refereed review this vault's entire
self-organized-criticality cluster is built around, a paper that rereads
BTW's own founding claims word-by-word, with page citations, to separate
what the theory actually asserts from twenty-five years of secondary
distortion.

Matters to this vault as the single most-cited source across its SOC
cluster, anchoring most of the claim-notes below. This page arrives later
than it should have: the name has recurred since 2026-08-30 without a hub
of its own; creating it now is catch-up work, not new research.
