Nikolas Zarkantzas

Nikolas Zarkantzas was the Associate Director of the Sinai Palimpsests Project (2011–2016), who died on 15 August 2016 at age 53, shortly before the project concluded. He matters to this vault as a named casualty of the project's own history: its director, Michael B. Phelps, credits him in a 2023 retrospective as essential to the project happening at all — a biographical thread not otherwise covered in the vault's manuscript-recovery cluster.
