NVFP4 (Nvidia FP4 recipe)

An Nvidia low-precision (4-bit) numerical recipe used as a comparison baseline in at least two vault-referenced papers: GIFT (FP8/NVFP4 gradient communication) and Metis (which claims to beat it on LLaMA-3 8B/100B tokens). No claim-note yet establishes what is actually publicly documented about NVFP4 itself — flagged in the 2026-08-07 capture as "worth its own note on what's actually published about it." Watching, not yet a hub: recurring across two papers is real signal, but the vault has no dedicated primary-source read on the recipe itself.
