First author of "Using shortest path to discover criminal community"
(*Digital Investigation*, 2015), the paper that originated
[[entity-spnsa|SPNSA]] (the Shortest Paths Network Search Algorithm) as a
method for extracting compact, interpretable sub-networks of likely
wrongdoers from a larger graph, seeded with known-bad "feed" nodes. She
matters to this vault as the originating figure behind an algorithm that
later research — including a 2026 paper on anti-money-laundering
transaction graphs — builds on and repositions, without revisiting her
original design. The 2015 paper demonstrated SPNSA on the Enron e-mail
corpus, seeded with people convicted of money laundering in Enron's
collapse.
