Qere and Ketiv
The Tiberian Masoretes' written/read distinction: the ketiv ("what is written") is the received consonantal text of the Hebrew Bible, left unaltered even where judged erroneous; the qere ("what is read") is the corrected or intended reading, recorded only in the margin. Surfaced this session grounding the claim that the Masorah's margin-only correction practice rests on treating the consonantal text as a closed, sanctified unit. Already implicated in the vault's Bomberg/Soncino Talmud print-history cluster via Jacob ben Ḥayyim ibn Adonijah, who compiled the standard printed Masorah in Daniel Bomberg's Venice shop. Watching for recurrence before promotion to a full hub.
