Italian theoretical physicist, co-author with Andrea Sportiello of "Exact
integration of height probabilities in the Abelian Sandpile Model" (2012,
arXiv:1207.6074), which provided the first analytic proof of Grassberger's
conjecture that the two-dimensional model's average site height is 17/8.
