A named Masoretic category ("there are some who believe…") for variant
readings recorded specifically *in order to be rejected* — preserved beside
the text to pre-empt a plausible-looking future misreading, not left as
reluctant scribal leftovers. Surfaced inside the Encyclopaedia Judaica
"Masorah" entry (Aron Dotan) as supporting detail for the Qere-Ketiv claim;
not yet written up as its own claim-note because the vault's sourcing floor
needs a second, independent Tier 1–2 source beyond the single EJ/Dotan
entry. Watching for recurrence or a corroborating source before promotion.
