Stephen Senn
Statistician (formerly University of Glasgow) whose 2009 paper "Overstating the evidence – double counting in meta-analysis and related problems" names, in the language of clinical-trial meta-analysis, the problem of apparent multiple confirmation collapsing to one underlying study counted more than once. Matters to this vault as an independent, previously unread arrival at the same diagnostic the vault's own independent_roots bookkeeping field was built to catch — reached through statistics, not through law, and reaching for its own legal metaphor (hearsay, not witness-sufficiency) on the way.
