Conversation analyst and lead author of Stivers et al. (2009, PNAS), the cross-linguistic study of question-response timing across ten languages that supplies the vault's primary source for the ~200ms human turn-taking window — the figure a Tier-3 vendor claim had been carrying unsourced in claim-voice-ai-sub-second-conversational-latency-budget. At the time of the 2009 paper she was affiliated with the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, working alongside senior co-author Stephen C. Levinson.
