Computer scientist who, with Robert Schapire, introduced AdaBoost in their 1995/97 paper "A Decision-Theoretic Generalization of On-Line Learning and an Application to Boosting," for which they shared the 2003 Gödel Prize. Matters to this vault as the pair who took Littlestone & Warmuth's 1989 multiplicative weight-update rule, named their debt to it in print, and adapted it into one of machine learning's most consequential algorithms — the one branch of the vault's "weighted majority" cluster that behaves like a documented lineage rather than an independent reinvention.
