Promotion: Kwakernaak-1977 × Ansari-2026 bipartite capture (Seek, headless)
I promoted 10-inbox/raw/2026-09-24-bipartite-two-things-this-vault-knows-in-different-kwakernaak-ansari.md.
Created (both seedling, capture-verified):
- claim-simkin-roychowdhury-2002-identical-citation-misprints-are-copy-fingerprints-implying-about-20-percent-of-citers-read-the-original (Tier 1 preprint; the 20% kept as model-dependent, flagged in watch_flag).
- observation-copy-fingerprint-logic-explains-why-kwakernaak-1977-trail-cannot-date-song-jians-acquisition (marked as inference; the bridge-by-contrast).
Skipped: the Ansari-CI claim (already in the vault note; the n=1 and 66%-total-fabrication framing is only mildly new, folded into nothing rather than duplicated). Entity candidates: none promoted as new hubs (Simkin, Roychowdhury, Zipf, Kosterlitz–Thouless are one-source; bias against flood). Existing entity page for Ansari got a dated line; Song/Kwakernaak/Greenhalgh/Olsder pages are covered by existing notes.
Questions: none routed. The unexamined "tracer in Kwakernaak-citing Chinese texts" is a nice-to-check, kept in watch_flag. No open question matched, so no closure.
Felt off: the capture's filename had to be suffixed because of a sibling collision. Tier 1 is fair, but only one paper's data are shown for the 20% figure despite the "dozen other papers" footnote. Single-source cap: one note resting on the Simkin preprint as primary (the observation cites it only for the method quote), so under the three-note cap.
Promotion: Butterfield × Jordanous bipartite capture (Seek, headless)
I promoted 10-inbox/raw/2026-09-24-bipartite-two-things-this-vault-knows-in-different.md.
Created (all seedling, capture-verified):
- claim-butterfield-1931-text-names-root-or-anticipation-found-by-resemblance-as-misleading-analogy (Tier 1, reproduction caveat)
- claim-butterfield-1931-text-warns-historian-forgets-descent-line-is-his-own-construction-and-takes-it-for-causation
- observation-jordanous-precursor-framing-performs-butterfields-likeness-step-but-not-his-causal-step (interpretive synthesis, labelled as such)
Entity: appended a dated line to entity-herbert-butterfield; no new hubs.
Skipped: the Jordanous precursor claim (duplicate of the existing note; the second passage is folded into the observation). Entity candidates were otherwise one-source terms/people. Further leads were unsourced or nice-to-check.
Questions: none routed. The unread ref-[10] date is in the observation's watch_flag; nothing load-bearing rests on it. No matching open question to close.
Felt off: the Butterfield text is a course-site reproduction, so "Tier 1" is fair only with the fidelity caveat, which I preserved. The capture also notes that the existing Jordanous note's "peer-reviewed" overstates a "Commentary" article; I did not edit that note (flagging here instead). The capture's "cosine 0.84" figure is unsourced within the capture.
Promotion: Room 39 vs. Godfrey/1939 capture (Seek, headless)
I promoted 10-inbox/raw/2026-09-24-does-mclachlans-room-39-1968-read-at-the.md. The primary was never read (controlled lending), so both notes are seedlings.
Created: claim-block-2021-attributes-only-intolerable-to-mclachlan-room-39-p22 (only one word on Block's page is McLachlan's) and claim-block-2021-quoted-mclachlan-passage-uses-grade-e-against-a-to-d-scale (an "E" grade cracks my own "started A–D, widened later" inference in the existing Godfrey note).
Questions: none new. Both notes link the existing question-verify-godfrey-nid-origin-against-mclachlan-room-39, where I appended a partial-progress line; it stays open. The E-grade doubt is the same Room 39 p. 23 read, so a second question would have been a false promise.
Skipped: the Samet-silence claim (a non-exhaustive absence claim; his content is already in existing samet notes) and most entity candidates (McLachlan and Godfrey got dated lines; Block, Meeland/Rhyne, Baker/Mace, FM manuals, STANAG 2511 get no stubs).
Felt off: the capture is mostly a null result, honestly labelled. Tier discipline was fine. The real news is on my own earlier work: the existing Godfrey note quotes Block's uncited sentence as if it were McLachlan-derived, and carries a quote_sweep FAIL I suspect is a glyph artifact (flagged in seek-flags as [defect]).
Promotion: Perrow 1994 reply as quoted by Hopkins (Seek, headless)
I promoted 10-inbox/raw/2026-09-24-does-perrows-own-1994-rejoinder-to-la-porte.md. Perrow's 1994 article was never read (Wiley 403), so all three notes are seedlings with [unverified-quote] flags, attributed "as quoted by Hopkins."
Created: claim-perrow-1994-reply-as-quoted-by-hopkins-disputes-hrt-cases-are-complex-tightly-coupled, claim-hopkins-reads-perrow-1994-garbage-can-and-power-turn-as-replacing-nat-not-enhancing-it, claim-hopkins-reports-perrow-1994-accepts-sagans-characterization-including-inevitability-proposition.
Questions: none new; appended a partial-progress line to question-verify-perrow-1984-normal-accidents-primary-read, which stays open. Retrieve-before-write: overlap with the La Porte 1996 note handled by linking, not duplicating (distinct angle: the 1994 classification dispute).
Skipped: the verdict section (folded into caveats), the symposium-order premise correction (Tier 4 listings), the null "no engagement with necessary-but-not-sufficient" (non-exhaustive absence), Hopkins's 1984 page cites, and all entity stubs. Appended dated lines to the Perrow, La Porte and Sagan pages; flagged a possible Hopkins hub in seek-flags.
Felt off: the capture's "partly answered" header rests entirely on one Tier 2 secondary; the "replaces, not enhances" verdict is Hopkins arguing a case, which I kept labelled as his. Hopkins's source date is unknown in the extracted text. His report that Perrow accepted inevitability is the most valuable and also the most secondhand item.
Promotion: Price Northampton table date (Seek, headless)
I promoted 10-inbox/raw/2026-09-24-which-date-is-correct-for-prices-completion-of.md.
Created: claim-price-1771-first-edition-prints-northampton-table-as-appendix-table-iv (budding), claim-price-northampton-data-run-to-1770-so-1769-completion-date-unsupported and claim-price-1783-fourth-edition-reforms-northampton-table-on-1735-1780-data (both seedling), plus hub entity-northampton-table. Appended dated lines to the Price, Walford and Morgan pages.
Questions: none new. question-verify-price-northampton-table-completion-date got a progress line and stays open: Walford's own 1769 sentence is unread and the 1771 and 1783 numbers were never compared.
Skipped: the NLM "two tables" claim (search-summary only, [unverified-quote]); the further leads; other entity candidates (no pages). I merged the data-window and Walford-1769 claims into one note because they are one argument.
Felt off: nothing serious; the capture was candid about what it did not read. The 1783 OCR is poor, so that note stays a seedling. I flagged the missing Equitable Society hub in seek-flags.
