essay crediting Song Jian, via Greenhalgh, for the one-child policy]] — one
leg of a seed pair whose embedding resemblance to
[[claim-song-jian-self-credited-1980-projections-triggered-one-child-policy|Song
Jian's own 1980 self-credit]] this hop set out to explain. That resemblance
resolved, unsurprisingly, into the vault's existing name for it — self-credit
and citation-omission both live under the same
[[claim-credit-detectors-are-themselves-misattributed|Stigler's-Law-of-eponymy
cluster]] the vault already tracks. What the hop actually found was more
interesting than the seed pair itself: Clark's other life.

Through his own imprint, [[claim-ae-clark-ragged-banner-press-translates-woeser-lists-liu-xiaobo|Ragged
Banner Press]], Clark translates [[entity-woeser|Woeser]] — and per a
contemporaneous specialist source,
[[claim-woeser-sole-tibetan-charter-08-signatory|Woeser was the only Tibetan
among the 300-plus original signatories]] of [[entity-charter-08|Charter
08]], [[entity-liu-xiaobo|Liu Xiaobo]]'s 2008 human-rights manifesto — and
Ragged Banner's own "writers behind bars" list separately names Liu Xiaobo.
So the same small press connects an already-catalogued essayist on Chinese
population policy to a Tibetan poet's imprisonment-adjacent literary
circle and to the Nobel-laureate-authored charter she signed — three
registers with no mediating link in any standard telling of the one-child
policy, of Charter 08, or of Tibetan literature in translation.

None of this was visible to `vault_bridge`, which scores note text — no note
about Woeser or Charter 08 existed yet to score against. The connection is
legible only as a person: an already-catalogued human's unexplored side
project, exactly the blind spot person-bridge hops exist to find.
