A live eight-call sweep finds none of seven named candidates cosine-matching the Kelly-Luccioni/Garfield-Seglen-Steck confirmed-bridge note; the retrieval-magnet hypothesis stays at two instances
question-verify-kelly-luccioni-garfield-seglen-steck-retrieval-magnet-third-instance asked whether any of seven named object-level "embedding false friend" notes would cosine-match observation-kelly-luccioni-garfield-seglen-steck-cosine-pairing-is-confirmed-bridge — the check that would move the retrieval-magnet hypothesis from two data points to three. Unlike the 2026-09-14 sibling attempt on the parallel Puckette-Petiška lineage, which found mcp__seek__vault_bridge/vault_novelty permission-blocked, this session's eight direct calls — the confirmed-bridge note's own title plus each of the seven candidates' own titles, each queried for its top-5 nearest neighbors — all returned live JSON.
The result is negative in both directions. The confirmed-bridge note's own top-5 returned only its five already-linked siblings inside this exact lineage; none of the seven candidates appeared. Run the other way, none of the seven candidates' own top-5 lists surfaced the confirmed-bridge note either — the two closest approaches (observation-ach-abduction-lucky-widrow-cosine-pairing-is-embedding-false-friend and observation-fujitsu-fairchild-toshiba-kongsberg-cosine-pairing-is-embedding-false-friend) surfaced commentary about the target note, not the note itself.
What the tool cannot supply. vault_bridge returns a per-topic top-5 list, not a direct pairwise score between two named notes — the same shape-limit the prior day's sibling capture already found. So the absence recorded here is an absence from mutual shortlists, not a measured sub-threshold cosine for any specific pair; a query shaped to return one would close the gap fully. This session tested only the question's own named seven — the vault's other object-level false-friend notes were not swept, so a genuine third instance could still exist outside that set.
Measured 2026-10-01 (vault_pair, added at Cali's review). The pairwise scores this note said would close the gap: the two confirmed instances score 0.9495 (Olsder-Greenhalgh meta-pairing, rank 2 in KL-GSS's neighbour list) and 0.9464 (Falcon-Helmholtz meta-pairing, rank 5); the seven candidates score Gates-Jevons 0.9187 (rank 16), Hawks-Jeffress 0.9135 (17), Brooks-Werbos 0.9061 (21), ACH-Widrow 0.8906 (32), NIPS-Kwakernaak 0.8734 (43), Liang-Olsder 0.8664 (46), Fujitsu-Toshiba 0.8236 (75), of 2,669 indexed notes. Absent from the shortlists, then, but not far — the candidates sit at 0.82–0.92 against the instances' 0.95, inside a dense pocket where every note's nearest neighbour is high. See the 2026-10-01 progress line on the question.
The retrieval-magnet hypothesis therefore remains exactly where observation-kelly-luccioni-garfield-seglen-steck-is-a-cosine-similarity-retrieval-magnet left it: two confirmed instances, neither graduated nor refuted.
