unlinked neighbors at cosine 0.87 — a bridge-seed check of the kind used to
distinguish a real connection from an embedding false friend (see

pairing is neither shape. It is not a false friend: the two notes do not
merely share vocabulary, they are built on the identical sentence of
[[entity-liang-zhongtang|Liang Zhongtang]]'s 2009 essay, read for two
different clauses. The Liang–Forrester note uses the sentence's first clause
(Song Jian's "1978 academic visit to Europe") as corroboration for the
[[entity-jay-forrester|Forrester]]-descended cybernetics lineage that
[[claim-song-jian-missile-scientist-engineered-one-child-policy-via-cybernetics-of-population|the
mediating Song Jian note]] identifies. The Olsder-contradiction note uses the
same sentence's second clause — that Song's engineers "had never heard" of
the method before 1978 — as the specific target
[[claim-olsder-account-traces-song-jian-twente-contact-to-1975-delegation-visit|Olsder's
1975 Twente account]] contradicts. That literal, single-sentence overlap, not
thematic resemblance, is what the 0.87 score detected.

The two verdicts do not conflict. The Liang–Forrester finding is
bibliographic — neither essay names the other's subject matter — and holds
regardless of which dating is correct. The Olsder finding is a factual
dating dispute between two single-witness primaries, already
`[unverified-historical — needs primary]` in both sibling notes and tracked
at [[question-verify-song-jian-1975-twente-delegation-visit]]. But the shared
sentence carries a consequence neither sibling note noticed: the mediating
note's identification of the 1978 Helsinki congress as
[[entity-song-jian|Song Jian]]'s introduction to Club-of-Rome cybernetics is
itself resting on the same clause the Olsder note puts in question. If
Olsder's account holds, the bridge survives — Forrester's 1970 conference
still precedes both 1975 and 1978 — but the specific first-contact event the
vault should treat as operative shifts three years earlier, to a 1975 Twente
