[[entity-pierre-goodrich|Pierre F. Goodrich]] — the founder of Liberty Fund,
whose Law & Liberty imprint already anchors this vault's one-child-policy
citation-genealogy cluster via
[[claim-starbuck-goodrich-profile-not-independent-of-liberty-fund|his own
documented Mont Pelerin Society membership]] — and Michael Polanyi were
both participants in the Mont Pelerin Society, the classical-liberal
society Friedrich Hayek founded in 1947 (the Society's own /about/ page,
as captured, confirms the Hayek/1947 founding but carries no member
roster; neither captured source dates Goodrich's joining). Wikipedia's
article on the Society names Goodrich among "Other noted members" —
citing Nancy MacLean's *Democracy in Chains* (2017), p. 125 — and Polanyi,
alongside Karl Popper, among "Other notable participants." This is still
corroboration genealogically independent of the Liberty-Fund lineage
(MacLean, via Wikipedia, has no connection to the Liberty-Fund-lineage
sourcing already flagged as non-independent elsewhere in this cluster),
but it is a Tier 4 roster pointing at a secondary source — weaker than
the Society's own roster this note originally, and incorrectly, recorded
it as (corrected 2026-09-10).

The same Michael Polanyi is already load-bearing in two unrelated vault
clusters: as the coiner of tacit knowledge behind David Autor's "Polanyi's

history of science). The Mont Pelerin/Liberty Fund connection is a third,
previously unrecorded cluster through the same person — and Polanyi's own
older brother, Karl Polanyi, was a political economist and anthropologist,
sitting on the opposite side of the political-economy question Michael's
Mont Pelerin cohort organized around.

`bridge_candidate: false` — none of the vault's three existing Polanyi-adjacent
notes appeared in its top-5 nearest neighbors, because the connecting fact
lives in a biography, not in shared vocabulary between notes. This is the
same blind spot already named for
