Following on [[question-verify-perrow-1984-normal-accidents-primary-read]], a session on 2026-09-14 attempted to obtain a direct read of [[entity-charles-perrow|Charles Perrow]]'s 1984 book *Normal Accidents* and failed on every route tried. The Internet Archive's scan (`archive.org/details/normalaccidentsl0000perr`) is a controlled-digital-lending "Access-restricted-item" with no downloadable file, and — notably — its internal full-text search API (`fulltext/inside.php`) and its plain-text OCR derivative (`_djvu.txt`) both returned HTTP 403 outright, not the lending-restricted response the item's own access model would predict. HathiTrust's search and catalog endpoints returned HTTP 403. A Google Books preview URL 404'd. A De Gruyter/Princeton University Press hosted chapter page returned an empty body. Perrow's academia.edu author page 403'd. A university course PDF that search suggested might be a scanned excerpt resolved to a dead link.

No route produced the primary text itself.
