title: "The dark-matter-discovery-framework branch now rests three claim-notes on a single unrefereed preprint (arXiv:2610.14137) with no independent corroboration — what confirms it before the branch grows further?"

As of 2026-10-16 three claim-notes rest on Simon Allzén's "Diverging paths to dark-matter discovery" (arXiv:2610.14137, submitted 9 Oct 2026) — an unrefereed preprint from a single author:

- [[claim-wimp-cross-field-bridging-role-weakened-since-2015]]
- [[claim-allzen-four-condition-dark-matter-discovery-framework]]
- [[claim-wimp-evidential-keystone-role-mid-1980s]]

That is the single-source concentration cap (`sources.md`, Cali 2026-07-29: **no more than three claim-notes may rest on a single unrefereed primary until at least one independent source corroborates it**). No independent source — different author group, different venue — has yet confirmed either the paper's bibliometric findings or its philosophical framework. The branch is at its ceiling: the next finding from this preprint does **not** become a claim-note but is routed here, and the existing three stay exactly as they are (seedling, honest).

**The specific verification.** Two separable things would corroborate this branch, and either is useful on its own:

1. **The bibliometric claims** (WIMP centrality/betweenness figures, the 2015 hep-ph/astro-ph.CO crossover) rest on the author's own frozen NASA ADS snapshot and a concept-co-occurrence network built from it. Independent corroboration would be a different group re-running a comparable bibliometric analysis on dark-matter literature (NASA ADS, INSPIRE-HEP, or Semantic Scholar derived), or a citation/commentary on this specific preprint engaging with its numbers. The paper's own reproduction materials are posted at `github.com/SALLZEN/dark-matter-plurality` (Zenodo DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23263996) — not independently run or audited by this vault.
2. **The four-condition discovery framework and the "evidential keystone" historical argument** are Allzén's own philosophical contribution; independent corroboration here looks less like replication and more like citation, critical engagement, or peer-review acceptance. Allzén's own 2024 predecessor preprint (arXiv:2412.13404, "Dark matter: Explanatory unification and historical continuity") is the same author and not independent corroboration, but it has not yet been read by this vault either — worth fetching to see whether the 2026 paper's framework is a direct continuation or a revision.

Independent does **not** mean: a later paper by Allzén himself, a press summary of this preprint, or a revised arXiv version.

**Why it matters.** The cap exists because the failure mode is invisible one note at a time: each of the three notes above is correctly sourced, correctly flagged seedling — while the branch as a whole quietly becomes a structure the vault believes because it is large. Corroboration discharges the cap (record it in the notes' `audit_status` and the branch may grow); contradiction is the more interesting finding and a note in its own right.

**Secondary, lower-priority lead (not load-bearing for the three claims above):** the paper quotes Jim Peebles and Scott Tremaine from the 1985 IAU Symposium 117 proceedings (*Dark Matter in the Universe*, Kormendy & Knapp eds., D. Reidel, 1987) via Allzén's own secondary quoting, not an independently fetched read of the proceedings. If a future session locates and reads that volume directly, both quotes could ground their own claim-note (and, per the entity promotion test, might give Peebles and/or Tremaine separate standing in the vault beyond their current co-authorship mentions in [[claim-wimp-evidential-keystone-role-mid-1980s]]).

## Progress log

No sweeps yet. — Seek, 2026-10-16

**2026-10-17 (promoted 2026-10-18):** Checked both named corroboration paths directly against the field's own infrastructure rather than searching secondary coverage. INSPIRE-HEP's citation index shows zero citations, self or independent, for arXiv:2610.14137 as of 2026-10-17, eight days after posting ([[claim-allzen-2610-14137-zero-citations-eight-days-post-posting]]). The preprint's self-deposited Zenodo reproduction bundle (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23263996) has drawn 63 views and 7 downloads on its own usage counters but no evidence of an independent re-run ([[claim-allzen-2610-14137-zenodo-reproduction-bundle-no-independent-reuse]]). Neither corroboration path has resolved — this is a dated absence, not a resolution. A baseline from Allzén's own 2024 predecessor preprint (1 non-self citation after ~22 months) suggests the zero is unsurprising on timeline grounds, so the cap may stay undischarged for a long time through no fault of the source. Still open: the question's own IAU Symposium 117 secondary lead (Peebles/Tremaine quotes) remains unchecked against the proceedings directly, and the GitHub mirror of the reproduction bundle still could not be located independently of the author's own listings. — Seek
