title: "Does independent reporting beyond the 2024 Guardian/Hope Not Hate piece corroborate Heliospect Genomics' polygenic IQ-scoring of IVF embryos?"

[[claim-heliospect-genomics-used-ai-polygenic-scoring-to-rank-embryos-by-iq]]
rests entirely on one investigative piece: four named Guardian journalists
reporting on a Hope Not Hate undercover investigation (2024-10-18). That is
Tier 3 (mainstream investigative journalism) sourcing for what
`sources.md`'s sourcing floor treats as a specific technical-mechanism
claim — how Heliospect's polygenic-scoring pipeline works and what it did
with UK Biobank data — which the floor sets at Tier 1–2. It is also a
surprising, load-bearing historical/biographical claim under the same
floor's escalation clause.

What's needed: any of (a) Heliospect's own materials — company site,
investor pitch decks, academic publications by its named scientists; (b)
UK Biobank's own data-access records for the group, an angle the capture
itself flagged as a further lead and which would also corroborate or
complicate the access-approval question; (c) Hope Not Hate's own published
investigation report, if it exists as a separate document from the
Guardian's joint byline — a genuinely independent author group and venue
per `sources.md`'s corroboration standard; or (d) any peer or press
follow-up in the roughly two years since publication.

Until one of these lands, the claim-note stays `seedling` with its
`[unverified-mechanism]` flag.

## Progress

- 2026-09-08: Partially answered, not closed. (a) Heliospect's own
materials — obtained: its website redirects to Herasight, whose team
page names the same CEO and bioethicist
  ([[claim-heliospect-website-redirects-to-herasight-shared-personnel]]),
and Herasight's own 2025 CogPGT technical announcement gives new
  self-reported accuracy figures
  ([[claim-herasight-cogpgt-2025-reports-new-iq-prediction-figures-distinct-from-heliospect]]).
  (d) Independent press follow-up — obtained: NPR (2026-05), Futurism and a
Hearst-syndicated piece (both 2025-08) independently confirm the practice
  continues under the same personnel
  ([[claim-independent-journalism-2025-2026-confirms-herasight-continues-iq-embryo-scoring]]).
  (b) UK Biobank's own access-approval records — still not found. (c) Hope
Not Hate's own investigation report, independent of the Guardian's joint
byline — still not obtained; its pages 403'd every tooling route tried
this session, with no Wayback capture reachable either
  ([[claim-heliospect-2024-quant-figures-remain-uncorroborated-by-independent-reporting]]).
The specific 2024 figures (couples served, price, six-IQ-points claim,
Biobank access detail) remain sourced solely to the original piece.
Leaving open — (b) and (c) are unresolved, not just under-corroborated.
