Bit2Watt frames itself as a "cyber-physical" vulnerability; the term "cyber-physical systems" is commonly attributed to Helen Gill's 2006 NSF program coinage, itself said to root in Norbert Wiener's cybernetics.

answers the lineage half directly, but not in the direction this question
assumed: the standard literature (Lee, in his own peer-reviewed words, twice)
explicitly frames CPS and cybernetics as sharing a common linguistic root
through the word "cybernetics" itself, and specifically warns against reading
CPS as *derived from* Wiener's program. And

second half in the negative: no source found bridges this Wiener/CPS thread
to the vault's Kelley/Bryson/Pontryagin/Bellman optimal-control lineage
either.
