• Does any independent source corroborate Hexels' (arXiv:2610.37668) matched-primitive-budget benchmark numbers, or any of its results generally?

• The two baselines Hexels benchmarks itself against — 2D Gaussian Splatting and Triangle Splatting — are both independently peer-reviewed, a materially stronger evidentiary status than Hexels' own still-unrefereed preprint

• As of 2026-10-29, no independent citation, reproduction, or third-party evaluation of Hexels (arXiv:2610.37668) has been found, and the vault's single-source cap on it remains undischarged

• At matched model-memory budgets, Hexels improve PSNR over 2D Gaussian Splatting by 4.53–7.38 dB and over Triangle Splatting by 1.70–2.90 dB across three view-synthesis benchmarks

• Hexels replace the Gaussian kernel in 2D Gaussian Splatting with a soft hexagonal support function and a linear per-primitive color field, leaving the rasterization and compositing pipeline unchanged

• For 3D surface reconstruction, Hexels cut mean Chamfer-distance error by ~28.9% versus memory-matched 2D Gaussian Splatting on DTU, and post the highest mean F1 score among compared methods — including unconstrained 2DGS — on Tanks and Temples

• The word 'hallucination' for AI errors began as a compliment in computer vision (Baker & Kanade, 2000) before flipping negative in NLP — and the 2023 paper the vault credited with coining 'artificial hallucination' actually borrowed the term from a 2022 survey

• Baker & Kanade's 2000 face-recognition paper uses 'hallucinated' to mean algorithmically-added plausible detail, presented as success

• Ji et al.'s 2022 NLG survey explicitly documents that 'hallucination' originated in computer vision with a positive meaning before acquiring its negative NLP sense
