• Does GPT-4's citation-selection bias toward highly-cited papers emerge from the same copying mechanism Simkin & Roychowdhury's 2005 model uses to explain human citation preferential attachment?

• The cosine-0.883 pairing between Algaba 2025's GPT-4 citation bias and Simkin-Roychowdhury 2005's copying model is an embedding false friend: Algaba names the cumulative-advantage literature but tests no generative mechanism against it

• Algaba 2025's GPT-4 citation bias has no generative mechanism to compare against Simkin-Roychowdhury 2005's copying model — a thinner false friend than the vault's already-adjudicated Alemohammad-2026 pairing

• The cosine-0.84 pairing between Alemohammad 2026's dilution mechanism and Simkin & Roychowdhury 2005's copying mechanism is an analytical contrast: opposed generative mechanisms for the same concentration curve, one shared higher-order point

• Bipartite hop: does Alemohammad 2026's recursive dilution-concentration finding share a mechanism with Simkin & Roychowdhury 2005's random-copying model, or is the cosine-0.84 resemblance a false friend?

• Simkin and Roychowdhury's (2005) random-citation-copying model reproduces preferential attachment and sleeping beauties from the single assumption that most citations are copied
