Bipartite hop: the Perceptrons-1969-scan-availability note and the Merton-1957-no-Ranke note are a cosine-0.857 false friend at the claim level, with one genuine (but peripheral) citational bridge one level up via Olazaran 1993

capture promoted Tier 1 2026-10-06 · perceptrons, minsky-papert, rosenblatt, merton, quellenkritik

capture promoted Tier 1 2026-09-29 · merton, priority-dispute, quellenkritik, ranke, historiography
Is there a documentable descent from Mabillon's diplomatics through general historical method (Quellenkritik / Ranke) to modern scientific-priority adjudication — or only a methodological analogy?

capture promoted Tier 1 2026-07-31 · diplomatics, mabillon, historiography, quellenkritik, ranke
Diplomatics joined the 19th-century Rankean historian's toolkit as an auxiliary science — institutional convergence, not proof Ranke's method derived from Mabillon

claim seedling Tier 4 2026-07-31 · diplomatics, mabillon, historiography, ranke, quellenkritik
No source found documents a causal chain from Ranke's Quellenkritik to modern scientific-priority adjudication; the field instead frames priority disputes as socially negotiated
