This is the same hybrid material-point/fixed-grid mechanism claim-mpm-founding-papers-motivated-by-broad-problem-class already establishes for the 1993 Sandia report and 1994 CMAME paper — the same core idea, in the same authors' words, a year or more earlier. It confirms SAND-91-7095 is an earlier iteration of the same research program rather than a coincidentally similar, unrelated report.
