Wabash College's own honorary-degree roster — published on its commencement pages and running continuously from 1839 to the present — lists "Yi Pao Mei" among the two honorary-degree recipients of 1951, alongside archaeologist Glenn Albert Black. This is Wabash's own institutional record, organizationally independent of both Liberty Fund and the China Institute of America, and it independently pins Mei to Wabash College at exactly the year Liberty Fund's own history page claims for him ("A professor of philosophy at Wabash during the 1950–51 school year").

The same list independently corroborates two adjacent details: Pierre Frist Goodrich received a Wabash honorary degree in 1949, consistent with his decades-long relationship to the college documented in claim-goodrich-china-institute-of-america-trustee-met-mei-at-wabash; and Frank Hugh Sparks — the Wabash president Liberty Fund's account says personally conferred Mei's 1951 degree — appears on the same list as Wabash's own 1956 honorary-degree recipient, independently confirming Sparks as a real figure closely tied to Wabash commencements in this era.
