Adolf Butenandt
German biochemist (1903–1995) awarded the 1939 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on sex hormones, shared with Leopold Ružička.
Matters to this vault as the third and final scientist caught by the same 1937 Nazi decree that reached Gerhard Domagk and Richard Kuhn — a case this vault previously left Tier-3/4-corroborated and unconfirmed, now closed at Tier 1 by the Norwegian Nobel Committee's own institutional history and by Butenandt's own Nobel Foundation Facts page, completing the closed set of three the decree mechanically forced alongside Ossietzky's own case.
