Deane B. Judd
American colorimetrist whose 1968 paper, "Ideal color space: Curvature of color space and its implications for industrial color tolerances" (Palette 29), states the curvature claim outright in its own title — making him, on the vault's current evidence, the earliest clearly identified figure to frame color-difference space in explicitly differential-geometric terms, roughly forty years before Urban et al. 2007 and over half a century before Ahrens et al. 2024. Known to the vault so far only via citation (Bujack et al. 2025's bibliography); his own 1968 paper has not yet been read directly by any session.
