Harriet Zuckerman

American sociologist of science whose 1965 Columbia doctoral-dissertation interviews with Nobel laureates supplied the empirical base for Robert K. Merton's Matthew Effect: interview subjects "repeatedly suggested" that eminent collaborators received disproportionate credit for joint work. Matters to this vault because the Matthew Effect is already a load-bearing hub here, anchoring the backpropagation-gap and citation-analysis clusters — and its human evidentiary base has never had its own claim-note. Named repeatedly (footnotes 2, 4, 11, 27, 29) in the same 1988 Merton paper this vault reads for both the Matthew Effect and obliteration by incorporation.
