Jan Blažek

Journalist and editor at Paměť národa (Memory of Nations), the Post Bellum oral-history archive, who authored its 2024 article on the newly-received Max van der Stoel recording.

Matters to this vault as the author of the article at the center of the vault's original van der Stoel–Patočka dating discrepancy — its own headline says January 1977, its own body says 1 March 1977 — and as the source of the article's acknowledgment that the archive's underlying 1996 tape is too degraded to publish in full. Not to be confused with historian Petr Blažek (ÚSTR), who authored the separate StB-file interrogation-date material in claim-blazek-stb-file-dates-patocka-interrogation-3-march-1977-prosecution-halted; no relation between the two has been established.
