Czech historian at the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (ÚSTR) who edited a 2017 critical documentary edition of the StB's own investigative file on philosopher Jan Patočka — "Kéž je to všecko ku prospěchu obce!": Jan Patočka v dokumentech Státní bezpečnosti — built from 120 previously largely unpublished secret-police documents including interrogation protocols.

Matters to this vault as the source whose own archival work supplies nearly everything the vault knows about Jan Patočka's death and funeral beyond a single 2007 retrospective: a specific interrogation date, the fate of a post-1989 prosecution attempt, and the mechanics of the StB's funeral-disruption operation, "Akce Dědek."
